Alysa D. Erichs recently retired as the Acting Executive Associate Director for Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).  As the largest investigative component within the Department of Homeland Security, HSI’s investigative and enforcement initiatives and operations target cross-border criminal organizations that exploit America's legitimate trade, travel, financial and immigration systems for their illicit purposes.  HSI is comprised of more than 10,300 positions, which includes more than 7,100 special agents who are assigned to 30 Special Agent in Charge (SAC) offices in over 210 cities throughout the United States, and 80 overseas locations in 53 countries.  Prior to this assignment, Ms. Erichs served as the Deputy Executive Associate Director for HSI.

Prior to the Deputy EAD position, Ms. Erichs served as the Assistant Director (AD) for the Operational Technology and Cyber Division (OTCD), formerly known as the Information Management Directorate (IMD), which directly supports HSI’s investigative, law enforcement and information sharing programs, and facilitates major advancements in technology used to combat crime and protect the United States.  OTCD provides cutting-edge electronic surveillance equipment and support to assist with criminal investigations and national security operations as well as managing HSI’s technical surveillance capabilities.  In addition to ensuring that HSI is in compliance with current information technology standards, policies and security requirements, the directorate also provides support in the areas of information sharing and statistical reporting, data management, executive information reporting, information sharing and infrastructure management, and technical operations.

Prior to becoming the AD for OTCD, she served as both the SAC and Deputy SAC of the HSI Miami, Florida office from 2009 through 2015.  Ms. Erichs also served as the Acting SAC of HSI Dallas, Texas.

Ms. Erichs has held additional leadership positions at ICE Headquarters to include Unit Chief for the Illicit Finance and Proceeds of Crime Unit within the Financial, Narcotics and Public Safety Division as well as Acting Deputy Assistant Director for the Financial, Narcotics & Public Safety Division.  

Prior to her tenure at ICE HSI Headquarters, Ms. Erichs was a Supervisory Special Agent assigned to the HSI New York El Dorado Task Force where she managed the Asset Identification and Removal Group and the Undercover Money Pick-Up Group.

Ms. Erichs holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Pace University.
